21 Oct Adding Text to Videos
A while ago we were contacted by Deaf Connect, the largest provider in Australia of services for deaf and hard of hearing people. The request was for us to consider placing text on the library of videos we have to assist and support our Learners, these include copies of our Webinars, Professional Development sessions and Tutorials. It has taken us several weeks to resolve how we can do that while still retaining our intellectual property and we have just finalised the process.
If you suffer from hearing loss you will need to:
- Note the disability on our enrolment form
- Have a Gmail account
- Provide HBA with an Auslan interpreter for your presentations
Upon enrolment we will give you a link to our private YouTube account where the files are kept.
One of the interesting challenges we faced along the way relates to the presentation requirements in the Delivery units as the Performance Evidence left us unsure if it was compliant to have presentations in Auslan. We consulted the National VET Regulator who in turn referred us to the Department of Workplace Relations. We are pleased to say DEWR confirmed the acceptance of this method of presentation if there is an Auslan interpreter in position and in constant contact with our Assessor.
By the end of October, we will have all supporting videos in position with readable text.
HBA Learning Centres, why would you go anywhere else?
