Do i really have to complete 10 units to transition from tae40116 certificate iv in training and assessment to tae40122 certificate iv in training and assessment? Gap 10 units

Do I really have to complete 10 units to transition from TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment to TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment?

This is a question we are getting from the marketplace quite frequently now and the answer is yes. The new qualification has brought with it a substantial increase in the evidentiary requirements as well as introducing new units. The skills gap training, we facilitate over 5 days is designed to provide underpinning knowledge as well as getting you well on the way with the practical activities. You will not finish the practical activities in class. In addition, there is a substantial number of Knowledge Questions you will complete post the 5 days. It is not possible to complete the entire requirements of the upgrade in 5 days and remain compliant.

Current RTO trainers and assessors who hold the previous qualification may well be able to RPL much of the additional requirements as long as they can access the hard evidence required. The RPL kit is to be found on our web site.

Please note: Currently there is no legislative requirement for you to upgrade from your existing qualification as the minimum requirements in the standards for RTO’s has not changed. We do note there are RTO’s now advertising for trainers and assessors that hold TAE40122 Certificate IV in training and assessment, that is an enterprise requirement rather than a legislated one.
