Getting off the Tools? – Skilled Workers Need Trainers

We have all heard of the shortage of skilled workers in our country; it appears the influx of migrants has further highlighted the need for additional housing to be built but, there is a problem; there is a shortfall of qualified Plumbers, Tilers, Carpenters, Brick Layers and Electricians.  To overcome this our various Governments, offer subsidised training courses, in some cases the fees are fully paid for.

Logically, to train tens of thousands of additional trades people requires many VET trainers and assessors and over the past year, at HBA, we have seen a large increase in trades people who have decided they wish to move from being “on the tools” to training young people in their trade.

The legislated requirement for a qualified trades person who wants to train and assess in Vocational Education Training is TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

At the time of writing (11/6/24) there are thousands of positions advertised on the various job boards in Australia and one of these could be perfect for you.
