We at HBA Learning Centres are thrilled to unveil our Health and Safety Representative (HSR) Training.
A Health and Safety Representative (HSR) plays a vital role in ensuring effective consultation between workers and management on workplace health and safety issues. Under the NSW Work Health and Safety Act 2011, elected HSRs have specific rights and responsibilities and this course gives them the tools to fulfil those duties with confidence and competence.
Approved by SafeWork NSW and delivered by industry-experienced trainers at HBA Learning Centres (RTO800659), this course ensures participants not only understand their role but can actively contribute to safer workplaces.
Course Structure
Our HSR Training is structured to meet legislative requirements and offers flexibility in how you choose to attend:
🔹 5-Day Initial Course
- Delivered face-to-face in North Sydney or via real-time remote online delivery.
- Runs Monday to Friday (9:00am–4:00pm).
- Price: $900.
- Includes a pre-course task and daily workbooks.
This comprehensive course deepens your understanding of the Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislative framework, how consultation should work in practice, and how to handle crucial functions like hazard identification, negotiation, incident investigation and more.
🔹 1-Day Refresher Course
- Delivered face-to-face in North Sydney or via real-time remote online delivery.
- Runs Monday to Friday (9:00am–4:30pm).
- Perfect for HSRs who have already completed the initial training and want to refresh their skills.
- Price: $300.
It reinforces key concepts including statutory powers such as issuing Provisional Improvement Notices (PINs) and directing the cessation of unsafe work.
