12 Jun Skill Sets
The change to TAE40122 Certificate IV in training and assessment has further pushed the concept of Scaffolding (the act of building skill sets on top of each other to achieve your specific qualification needs). At HBA we have certainly seen a huge increase in the enrolments for these over the past 6 months. Skill sets are often used for Verification of Competency training rather then an individual undertaking the entire qualification and certainly in many instances this meets the legislative and organisational requirements.
The main skill sets are as follows:
This consists of:
- TAEASS412 Assess competence
- TAEASS413 Participate in assessment validation
- TAEDES411 Use nationally recognised training products to meet vocational training needs
Those that hold this skill set are allowed to assess within the VET system without supervision.
The skill set may be completed with HBA by either attending a 5 day Blended course or by undertaking self-paced learning.
TAESS00021 Facilitation skill set
This consists of:
- TAEDEL411 Facilitate vocational training
- TAEDES412 Design and develop plans for vocational training
Those that hold this skill set are allowed to facilitate within the VET system under supervision.
The skill set may be completed with HBA by either attending a 5 day Blended course or by undertaking self-paced learning.
TAESS00028 Work skill instructor skill set
This consists of:
- TAEPDD401 Work effectively in VET sector
- TAEDEL311 Provide work skill instruction
Those that hold this skill set facilitate and conduct work skill instruction while delivering nationally recognised instruction under supervision.
The skill set is delivered by self-paced learning or inhouse course over 5 days.
In addition to these skill sets HBA has developed a VOC micro credential primarily for its list of corporate accounts although anybody can undertake this by self-paced delivery. It is mostly delivered in house for a group of employees in large organisations that see this as part of their risk management process and or contractual agreements.
The Course consists of:
- TAEDEL311 Provide work skill instruction
- TAEASS412 Assess competence
