19 Apr What new units are in TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (Part 1)
This will be the first in a series where we explain what each unit in the new qualification is all about.
TAEDEL411 Facilitate vocational training is a core unit that supersedes TAEDEL401 Plan, organise and delivery group-based learning. It is worth noting that the new unit is not considered equivalent to the previous unit thus there can be no credit transfer.
In this unit you are required to conduct 5 presentations and it is a little complicated but it goes like this:
- You pick a nationally recognised training product or one that is aligned with other recognised frameworks, this is best done with a subject you are familiar with.
- You prepare and deliver 3 sequential group training sessions and each one must go for at least 30 minutes to a minimum of 4 learners. The learners must be physically in the same room as you and the group must be the same for each of the presentations.
- You pick another person, someone who was not in the previous group, and you prepare and deliver 2 different training sessions to this learner, each session must go for a minimum of 30 minutes.
Now as assessors we have to ensure 4 things occur:
- You deliver all sessions in their entirety
- You actually facilitate the learners acquisition of skills and knowledge whilst developing Learner independence
- You monitor and the Learner engagement and participation
- You identify and respond to the foundation skills
This unit is evidence heavy thus, in addition to the practical activities, it has a substantial volume of knowledge evidence (theory) requirement; there are quite a few questions in the accompanying knowledge question workbook.
Rest assured the Trainers at HBA Learning Centres understand the requirements and are very happy to share their knowledge with you in our course. This will save you hundreds of hours!
