The National VET Regulator Australian Standards Quality Authority (ASQA) has the power to shut down an RTO and recall its issued qualifications. It audits an RTO against several different elements:
- The Training Package Rules the RTO delivers its qualifications from.
- The Standards for RTO’s 2025.
- Market activities and intelligence.
It recently issued an interesting statement:
“As at 31 December 2025, ASQA has cancelled the qualifications and/or statements of attainment of 30,095 individuals and issued notices of intent to cancel qualifications and statements of attainment to 36,603 individuals. All individuals are afforded the opportunity to respond to the notice prior to a decision being made about whether to cancel the qualifications issued to them.”
Perhaps it is worth considering the above before you enrol in a VET qualification.
