BSB51319 - Diploma of Work Health & Safety - Upgrade
The upgrade to the BSB51319 Diploma Work Health and Safety requires completion of:
- One (1) new elective unit to meet revised qualification packaging rules (Group A), BSBWHS514 Manage WHS compliance of contractors.
- One (1) elective unit to meet the revised qualification packaging rules (Group A), BSBWHS518 Manage WHS hazards associated with maintenance and use of plant
- One (1) new core unit, BSBWHS519 – Lead the development and use of WHS risk management tools.
Note: If you hold one of the units of competency listed below then please let us know as it will reduce the work you are required to do.
- BSBWHS508 Manage WHS hazards associated with plant
- BSBWHS509 Facilitate the development and use of WHS risk management tools
Please note this course does not include revision of the BSB51312/BSB51315 Diploma of Work Health and Safety. If you feel you require revision of the BSB51312/BSB51315 Diploma of Work Health and Safety qualification, it is your responsibility to obtain this prior to attending the upgrade course.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
You must hold the BSB51312/BSB51315 Diploma of Work Health and Safety qualification. You are required to complete HBA’s Credit Transfer form, which will also provide HBA with consent to contact the RTO who issued your qualification, to verify the qualifications authenticity. upon enrolment
NOTE: Your BSB51312/BSB51315 qualification must include any two (2) of the following units to be eligible for this upgrade. Contact HBA for advice if you do not hold the pre-requisite units.
- BSBWHS507 – Contribute to managing WHS information systems
- BSBWHS510 – Contribute to implementing emergency procedures
- BSBWHS508 – Manage WHS hazards associated with plant
COURSE DURATION
Learners are given up to 6 months to complete the course.

Overview: The self-paced delivery method is completed in your own time, at your own pace and is ideally suited to highly motivated self-starters.

To meet the upgrade requirements, you will need to:
- Undertake reading and research
- Complete theory and practical assessment activities

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Cost: $200 per unit
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available for this Qualification.
