Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to outline how HBA Learning Centres meets with the requirements of personal information to be collected, used and disclosed for the purposes for which it is required, and otherwise in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 and the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011. 

This policy contains: 

  • The types of personal information HBA Learning Centres collects and holds 
  • How HBA Learning Centres collects and holds personal information 
  • The purposes for which HBA Learning Centres collects, holds, uses and discloses personal information 
  • How an individual may access personal information about themselves held by HBA Learning Centres ▪ how an individual can seek the correction of such information 
  • Whether HBA Learning Centres is likely to disclose personal information to overseas recipients 
  • How an individual may complain about a breach of the Australian Privacy Principles (APP) how HBA Learning Centres will deal with such a complaint 

Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015

This policy relates to compliance with the following Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015.

Standard 4: Accurate and accessible information about an RTO, its services and performance is available to inform prospective and current learners and clients.

Standard 5: Each learner is properly informed and protected

Standard 8: The RTO cooperates with the VET Regulator and is legally compliant at all times.

Scope

This policy applies to all HBA Employee’s and all HBA Learners

Personal Data

HBA understands the importance people attach to personal information (such as name, address, date of birth, phone number, email address, etc.). HBA is committed to managing and protecting any personal information any person shares with HBA. Through this policy HBA seeks to ensure that all persons will be able to deal with HBA with the confidence that personal information is only used by HBA in ways that are legal, ethical, secure and as required for compliance as a registered training organisation (RTO).

Types of Information Collected​

When a person enrols into an HBA course, HBA is required to collect personal information as part of the enrolment process. This includes application for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer (CT).

The enrolment form will collect details of a personal nature (e.g. date of birth, address, contact details) to ensure the identity of the individual and the collection of accurate information pertaining to the course enrolment.

Further to this personal information, HBA collects details known as AVETMISS data. This information is of a personal nature and will include but is not limited to, details of education, employment history, current employment status, disabilities and language, literacy and numeracy skills.

The collection of this information will also assist HBA in ensuring appropriate support needs are identified and effective training and assessment arrangements can be made on an individual basis as required.

Persons visiting the HBA website may be able to access other sites by clicking on links that HBA embeds within its website. Persons should be aware that other sites may not be subject to the same privacy standards and procedures as HBA. HBA does not take responsibility for persons choosing to visit these other sites.

HBA only collects the personal information necessary for enrolment, marketing and reporting purposes.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact form cookies

Who we share your data with

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

Refunds, cancellations, withdrawals and extensions

HBA has a strict refund and withdrawal policy. Learners are advised to give careful consideration to their course enrolment decision. In this regard HBA Learning Centres regrets that it cannot accept responsibility for changes in Learners’ personal circumstances, work commitments and/or personal preferences. All requests for cancellations, withdrawals, refunds, changes or transfers to enrolments must be requested in writing to [email protected] HBA reserves the right to offer a refund or proportional refund in circumstances it believes are warranted. HBA does not place courses on hold/freeze. Refer to the extension provisions listed below if you require additional time to complete

Course cancellation and transfer fees

Face-to-Face Courses (Blended & Intensive)

Cancellation Fee

  1. 14 days or more prior to scheduled course commencement $200 + GST (administration fee)
  2. Within 14 days of scheduled course commencement All fees paid or invoiced up to a value of $1,500 per Learner will be forfeited.

Transfer Course Date Fee

Transfers must be requested and approved 14 days or more prior to scheduled course commencement (Maximum of two (2) transfers allowed) $100 plus GST (administration fee)

Self-paced Courses

Self-paced Learner commencement dates are established upon enrolment with HBA. HBA does not offer a cooling off period on self-paced courses. No refund is available after enrolling. This includes the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment Self-Paced Plus.

Cancellation Initiated by HBA

Learner has option to transfer to next course date that suits them, or Full refund of fees paid.

Diploma of Quality Auditing (BSB51615)

Entry Requirements: There are no entry requirements for this course.

Course Duration: You have until the 1st March 2022 to complete the BSB51615

  • Self-paced Delivery $1800
  • Blended Delivery 5 days with a Trainer  $1800

 

Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40116)

Entry Requirements: Those entering this program must be able to demonstrate vocational competency in their proposed teaching and assessing area. Vocational competency is defined as broad industry knowledge and experience, and may include, but is not limited to, holding a relevant unit of competency or qualification.

Course Duration: Learners are given eighteen (18) months to complete the course.

  • Self-paced Delivery $1050
  • Self-paced PLUS–5 days with a Trainer $1450
  • Blended Delivery–15 days with a Trainer $3000

 

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment gap training (TAE40116 Gap Training)

Entry Requirements: Hold the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and provide a certified copy of this qualification upon enrolment. Also, Meet the Course Requirements to ensure you are capable of completing the course- refer to infopack

Course Duration: Learners are given six (6) months to complete from course commencement date.

  • Self-paced Delivery
    • Those that already hold TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills the price is $495.
    • Those that do not hold TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills the price is $595.
  • Full Delivery
    • For those who hold TAELLN411 Address Adult Language Literacy and Numeracy Unit.  Price: $775. Full delivery consists of 3 days face-to-face where we envisage you will complete most of the assessment tasks, however there may still be post course work to complete. Completion depends on your experience and learner characteristics.
    • For those that do NOT hold TAELLN411 Address Adult Language Literacy and Numeracy Unit. Price: $975 Full delivery consists of 4 days face-to-face where we envisage you will complete most of the assessment tasks, however there may still be post course work to complete. Completion depends on your experience and learner characteristics. Day 4 will focus on TAELLN411 Address Adult Language Literacy and Numeracy Unit only. It should be noted that Day 4 is facilitated as a Blended Delivery which means you will have post course assessment tasks to complete.

Entry Requirements: There are no entry requirements for this course.

Course Duration: Learners are given twelve (12) months to complete the course.

Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety Upgrade (BSB41419 Upgrade)

Entry Requirements: You must hold the BSB41412/BSB41415 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety qualification. You are required to complete HBA’s Credit Transfer form, which will also provide HBA with consent to contact the RTO who issued your qualification, to verify the qualifications authenticity upon enrolment.

Course Duration: Learners are given six (6) months to complete from course commencement date.

  • Self-paced Delivery from $450

 

Diploma of Work Health and Safety (BSB51319)

Entry Requirements: Core units of BSB41419 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.

Course Duration: Learners are given 18 months to complete the course.

  • Self-paced Delivery $1300
  • Blended (Intensive) Delivery $2000

 

Core Unit Fast Tracked Delivery (Learners who do not hold the entry requirements for BSB51319 Diploma of Work Health and Safety)

Fast track by completing the (5) core units of the BSB41419 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety followed by completing all ten (10) units of competency from the BSB51319 Diploma of Work Health and Safety course.

  • Self-paced Delivery $1300
  • Blended (Intensive) Delivery $2700

 

Diploma of Work Health and Safety Upgrade (BSB51319 Upgrade)

Entry Requirements: You must hold the BSB51312/BSB51315 Diploma of Work Health and Safety qualification. You are required to complete HBA’s Credit Transfer form, which will also provide HBA with consent to contact the RTO who issued your qualification, to verify the qualifications authenticity upon enrolment

NOTE: Your BSB51312/BSB51315 qualification must include any two (2) of the following units to be eligible for this upgrade. Contact HBA for advice if you do not hold the pre-requisite units.

  1. BSBWHS507 – Contribute to managing WHS information systems
  2. BSBWHS510 – Contribute to implementing emergency procedures
  3. BSBWHS508 – Manage WHS hazards associated with plant

Course Duration: Learners are given six (6) months to complete from course commencement date.

  • Self-paced Delivery from $450

 

Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30113)

Entry Requirements: There are no entry requirements for this course. Note: It is the responsibility of each Learner to organise their own work placement and insurance requirements for the course.  Please contact 1300 721 503 for more information.

Course Duration: Learners are given twelve (12) months to complete the course.

  • Self-paced Delivery $1400

 

Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC50113)

Do you hold a current CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care?

If you do, you may be able to Credit Transfer the Core Units to the CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care + reduce the course price! $1600

 

Dual Qualification Package (CHC30113+CHC50113)

Our course structure allows the majority of CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care units to be credited to CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care so, this dual package offer saves you time and money.

Course Duration: Learners are given eighteen (18) months to complete the two Qualifications.
