If you consider the word Quality what do you think of?[/fusion_text][fusion_text]Perhaps a Swiss watch or an Italian Handbag? They are surely quality items but quality in the fullest definition means more than a brand. It is defined as “In manufacturing, a measure of excellence or a state of being free from defects, deficiencies and significant variations. It is brought about by strict and consistent commitment to certain standards that achieve uniformity of a product in order to satisfy specific customer or user requirements.” ISO 8402-1986 standard defines quality as “the totality of features and characteristics of a product or service that bears its ability to satisfy stated or implied needs.” Read more: http://www.businessdictionary.com/definition/quality.html[/fusion_text][fusion_text]What do we use as the benchmark for determining quality? Our job is made easier these days as we have a set of Standards by which we can measure our quality. For example, as an RTO we are required to adhere to Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs). These standards are complex and multi-faceted yet they must be adhered to. All industry segments have standards to comply with and these can include subjects from Taxation to corporate governance, from operations to finance.
